10 Revivals in the Old Testament

Psalm 119:93

Introduction

The Psalmist asks this question in Psalm 85:6, “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”

A revival is defined as a noun, an instance of something becoming popular, active, or important again, an improvement in the condition or strength of something, and a new production of an old play or similar work.

My dad was a Southern Baptist Minister and he preached many revivals. He was an evangelist at heart. He loved to win people for the Lord.

2 Timothy 3 16

Revivals

In his sermon notes, he identified ten Old Testament Revivals.

In this series, we will look at each revival and what was the main message. Then we will apply it to our lives.

The type of revival my dad was best known for was a Brush Arbor Revival. He would carry a piano in the back of his truck and pull up on a corner and start preaching.

Message

His message was simple, Jesus Christ is God’s Son and we are all sinners and we need to be saved. Read with me the primary verse he always shared in the Gospel of John.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.

Let’s see what the messages from the revivals of the Old Testament revealed.  We will do this one message at a time.

Conclusion

Billy Graham made revivals or crusades popular. I attended two of his crusades. His daughter Anne Graham Lotz preached one that I attended in San Diego. Her message was Just Give Me Jesus. Today will you join me in listening to her message on What Is In Your Hand?

Will you share with the person next door?

Father God, You love us so much. Help me to share You with others. In Jesus name. Amen.

May this bless you today, God raises us up.

Have I told you lately how much I love you for reading my blog?
