28 Days of Loving God- Day 1
Beloved, there is a group of us that write daily in February. Yesterday was the first of February, and the word to write on was longing. Longing is in the Bible 18 times, and I shared with my friend Barbie that we should long for God and our relationship with God.
Daily when we are praying and reading the Bible are some of the ways we spend time with God. Another way is when we share our testimony. It does not even have to be our formalized testimony; it can be how we serve the Lord.
My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times. Psalm 119: 20
And My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word. Psalm 119: 81
and I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands. Psalm 119: 131
Lastly, when we long for the Lord, He is a priority. Is the Lord a priority for you?
This last verse with the word longing in it is about hope.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12
Longing for something, the best thing to long for is God. I long for some answers to prayers; I long for some family members to draw closer to the Lord. I long for some to get well that I am a case manager of their cases. What are you longing for?
Father God, Your word says that you will draw near us when we draw near to you. We long to draw near you. In Jesus’ name.
