28 Days of Loving God – Day 15
Beloved, our word in entraps-entrap is in the Bible. Well, the Message Bible shares the word. The definition of trap means to trick or deceive (someone), especially by inducing them to commit a crime to secure their prosecution. Similar words are a snare, entice, entangle, enmesh, or capture.
“Diaster entraps sinners, but God-loyal people get a good life. Proverbs 13:21. Message.
The best Bible story that demonstrates sin is Lot and Lot’s wife. Lot and his wife lived in Sodom, and when God ordered its destruction, Lot’s wife looked back and became a “pillar of salt.” The rest of Lot’s life became very complicated. His daughter’s plotted to get him drunk– he fathered their children.
Have you ever been entrapped by sin? Having prayed through the Steps to Freedom in 1994 and then leading women through the Steps, one must stop the sin cycle. So instead of sin, confess, sin, confess, it is a sin, admit, resist the evil.
How do you resist the evil, beloved? By God’s grace, He will give you the strength to break the habit of sinning. Recognize your weakness. Perhaps it is using a credit card when you don’t have enough cash or not telling the complete truth. If there is an attraction to something, make a clean break.
Whatever you do, whatever you eat or drink, do it all to the glory of God; this is my version of 1 Corinthians 10:31.
According to our verse in Proverbs, sweet friends loyal people get a good life. Here to our good life.
Father God, help us live lives free of known sin. Let us renounce any sin that entraps us in Jesus’s name, amen.
What is God asking you to do in response to this blog?
