28 Days of Loving God -Day 27

Beloved, today’s word is taboo-taboo, a social or religious custom prohibiting or forbidding discussion of a particular practice or forbidding association with a specific person, place, or thing. So when I think of not talking about something, it is similar to having the elephant in the room. When an elephant is in the room, you want to speak and need to talk about the subject, but you don’t.

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:19.

Taboo- do you talk about it or not. When I worked at my last job, I always had a lingering fear when I shared my faith. Today, I openly share my faith., our faith is not a taboo subject.

Henry Blackaby says that God is at work around you, and He invites you to join him. So one does not have to worry if a subject is taboo. God will give you the words to say. In a conflict resolution class, some valuable words I learned to share with a person are that you need to share something challenging, “I  have something difficult to say.”

The bottom line with taboo subjects is to pray first.

Father God, with you, there are no taboo subjects. In Jesus’s name. Amen
