Introduction
Perhaps you do not know this but one of my favorite sayings, “I am blessed.” When asked how I am doing or feeling I will say I am blessed. What is one of your favorite sayings?
Scripture:
Reading today from Psalm 119: 1-8.
1Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.
8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
Therefore,
Three ways to be blessed according to these verses are to walk, seek, and obey.
How do we walk in the law of the Lord? First, we need to read God’s word.
Reading and meditating on God’s word fills a void. We all have a God Vacuum in our hearts that is only filled with God. In this Psalm, the importance of being in God’s word is emphasized.
Part of our walk with the Lord needs to include reading His Word.
Secondly,
In verse two, one is blessed who seek Him with a whole heart. We are blessed because we seek the Lord. How do you seek the Lord? Talking to the Lord is one way to seek Him. Tracie Miles says to pray without ceasing is to just not say Amen.
Lastly,
In verse three, the words who do no iniquity, beloved, to do no iniquity one obeys the Lord. Trust and obey is an old hymn that outlines the benefits of trusting God. Trust and obey for there is no other way. Is there unconfessed sin in your life? Beloved, 1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sin, He will forgive us.
In Conclusion,
We are to keep the precepts, His Word, diligently. Beloved, whether you read a verse a day, a chapter a day, or more of the Bible. God’s Word is instruction for the Soul. In this Psalm, we will read more about the Word. Read verse eight, will you join me in keeping his precepts?

Father God, your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Let me stay in the shadow of the light of your word. For my sweet sisters reading these words may they be blessed today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
What is God asking you to do in response to reading God’s Word?
