30 Days of Thanksgiving

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
 For the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods. Psalm 95: 1-3. KJV

 

In this new series of 30 Days of Thankfulness, we are going to write scripture. Each month there are many writing plans on scripture. So, take out an index card, a plain piece of paper, or a composition book and write the above verses.

I’ve been known to give these index cards away.

Writing scripture is a part of my life. I use the SOAP method. S is for Scripture, O is for observation, A is for application, and P is for prayer.

Write out these verses.

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

 For the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.

From these verses, what do you observe? First, we are to sing to the Lord. The Lord is the Rock of our salvation, and we are to come into His presence with thanksgiving and to shout joyfully to Him His Word, the Psalms. Then we are to acknowledge that the Lord is a Great God and King above all gods.

Next is how you would apply this verse. First, we need to sing and give thanks to the Lord for all of our blessings. Then we need to acknowledge how great God is and that He is King above all Kings.

The last section is to pray these verses.

Father God, You are the Rock of our salvation, and we can come into Your presence daily. How I praise You and that the Lord is a good God and a great King. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

In 30 days of thankfulness, I am thankful today for you. For the one who takes the time to read what I am writing, I am most grateful. What are you thankful for?
