30 Days of Thankfulness Day 2
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Colossians 3:15
As you write out this verse, there is a powerful message in this verse. When was the last time you had the feeling of angst? Recently, my husband made a trip to California and because I returned to work, I stayed in Missouri. The whole time he was gone, I suffered from an uneasy feeling.
Beloved, let’s be thankful that the peace of God can and will rule in your hearts if you will let go and let God have the situation. As the days progressed, I began to let go of the uneasiness.
As part of our nature, we let our minds run wild with “what if situations.” We worry about the “what if” and we fret about the unknown. Yet we are told in Matthew 6 to not worry about tomorrow. The Lord teaches us that each day He meets our needs. He tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7 that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
For all these reasons, we can be thankful. God says, let the peace of God rule in your hearts.
What would this look like? This involves trusting in God, having faith, and being thankful.
Father God, you know the numbers of hairs on our heads, and you know the words we are going to say before we say them. May we let the peace of God rule our hearts. In Jesus’s name. Amen
What are you thankful for today?
