Linking with Five Minute Friday.
They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer. But then they would flatter him with their mouths, lying to him with their tongues; their hearts were not loyal to him, they were not faithful to his covenant. Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Psalm 78: 35-38
Beloved, what does it take to be loyal to the Lord on a daily basis? In Psalm 78:7, “They would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.”
After all, we read in Psalm 78:13 they were rescued from the Pharaoh in the land of Egypt Can you imagine witnessing the parting of the Red Sea and walking through on dry land? Deception entered the hearts and they were not loyal to God, his covenant. Beloved what does this look like? A rushed morning no devotional time, no prayer time, or days without being in the word, weeks without going to church.
Let’s strive for loyalty to our Lord daily. [Tweet “Be Loyal to God Be in his word daily. Pray daily. Love your neighbor daily”]
