Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling. It is better to be humble in spirit with the lowly Than to divide the spoil with the proud.
(Proverbs 16: 18-19)
As a child, cautioned by parents about not being prideful, this really messed with my mind. So as a child, my accomplishments were not recognized but I am changing this practice.
This week’s list is things I should be proud of. I am changing it up and listing the things I am proud of in my life.
I am proud of my career of twenty-six years as a Registered Nurse and my education. I have my Master’s Degree in Nursing. My current employer has employed me ten years. I am a good hospital case manager.
I am proud that I started a journey three years ago and lost 110 pounds and have keep up a healthy body mass index of 24 for two years. Because of my weight loss, I submitted my story to Tracie Miles and she included my story in her book, Your Life Still Counts.
I am proud that after having the courage to submit my story, I started writing a blog. I reached out to a friend, Barbie Swihart, and she upgraded my blog and made it beautiful. I am proud of my writing and that I write for God.
I am proud of my friend, Dr. Michelle Bengtson, who has faced so many obstacles but has persevered while waiting for her book Hope Prevails to be published August 16, 2016.
I am proud of my father, Troy Manley, who at the age of 90 is still preaching God’s word and is learning how to text.
I am proud of my friend Jen who has found happiness after many trials.
I am proud of my husband, Doug, who selflessly cares for me while I work and cares for his elderly mother. We moved in with her when his dad passed three years ago. Doug is the most caring man.
I am proud of my two daughter-in-laws who are the best moms to my six beautiful grandchildren and wives to my two sons.
I am proud of both of my sons who are wonderful men and dads. They are great providers for their wives, and their children. Each of them fiercely love their families. What more would you want?
Lastly, I am proud of my on-line Bible study groups, and that each person involved is growing in Christ. I love all of you and you know who you are.
How about you? What is something/someone you are proud of?

I can say this, I am proud to call you a friend and sister in the Lord!
One other thing finally came to mind; 13 years of marriage and still going strong!
