Dreams, goals, desires, and resolutions. Each have different meanings to different people. Dreams are hopes that may or may not be reached. For instance, as a writer, one might dream of having a book on the New York Best Sellers List. A goal would be to write a book and have a certain number of pages or words written per day. A goal is measurable and has an end date. A desire is something that no one can block. It is my desire and I can accomplish the desire. My desire is to write a blog and as long as I write, I meet my desire.
We are one month into the new year of 2016. How are you doing on your resolutions? I did not make any resolutions this year as you know. I did choose a word to shape my year and HOPE is my word. My verse this year is Romans 15:13,
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
This week’s list is current goals and future goals and dreams. Since dreams are dreams and I love to dream big, my dreams mainly are in the future.
Dreams:
I would love a log cabin house to retire in with a fire place, a loft for me to write and several bedrooms so friends and family can visit.
I would love to travel on a David Jeremiah or Charles Swindoll tour to the Holy Land.
I would love to travel to Hawaii and Alaska.
I would love to write a book on freedom from fear.
I would love to speak at a retreat some day.
Goals:
I would like to retire in four to five years to write and to serve God.
I would like to take a medical missionary trip
Desires
I desire to be closer to my family and to love and play with my grandchildren.
I desire to grow closer to the Lord daily by being in His word, praying, and sharing His good news.
I desire to improve my writing skills and grow my blog readership.
I desire to learn how to speak Spanish.
What about you my friend? What are your current and future goals and dreams? Please share in the comments below.
