Introduction
Beloved one of my favorite verses in Psalm 139:14, what is your favorite verse? Psalm 139:14 says we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Do you believe you are special, fearfully and wonderfully made? When I did not follow the decrees of the Lord, I have felt shame. Have you felt shame? Perhaps you are trapped in sin, confess, sin relationship. Are you truthful in your relationships with your husband, your employer? Are there areas in your life that there is dishonesty, pain, and remorse?
Scripture:
Your hands made me and formed me;
give me understanding to learn your commands.
74 May those who fear you rejoice when they see me,
for I have put my hope in your word.
75 I know, Lord, that your laws are righteous,
and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
76 May your unfailing love be my comfort,
according to your promise to your servant.
77 Let your compassion come to me that I may live,
for your law is my delight.
78 May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause;
but I will meditate on your precepts.
79 May those who fear you turn to me,
those who understand your statutes.
80 May I wholeheartedly follow your decrees,
that I may not be put to shame.
Hence,
In these verses, we see that God made us. The Psalmist is asking for an understanding of God and His Word. Additionally, we receive compassion from the Lord.
Your law is my delight, I will meditate on your precepts. May I challenge you to read God’s word. How can we follow His decrees if we don’t read and meditate on God’s word?
Will you take one verse and meditate on it, let it change your heart. Let it soften your heart, let it guide you in your decisions.
Conclusion,
There are many reading plans for reading God’s Word, will you chose one today and make it a priority.
Why did I feel shame, I made some poor choices, the spiral started by not being in God’s word, not going to church and succumbing to being busy. But God is faithful and did not leave me in the desert.
1 John 1:9 says if we are faithful to confess, he will forgive us of our sins.
My chains fell off and I am redeemed. Redeemed and living free. Today is the National Day of Giving will you give to your favorite charity. Would you consider giving a gift to Bright Smiles? Just $5.00 will help.
