Beloved, our word is adored. And the thought is in the Bible. We read this verse in Deuteronomy 6:5, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”
Another suggested list of verses for adoration is:
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. Now therefore, our God, we thank You, and praise Your glorious name. … 1 Chronicles 29: 11-14
Honestly, I think King David wrote many poems that praised God. After all, the definition of adores is love and respect (someone) profoundly, worship, and venerate.
Many of his Psalms were songs set to music. Before David became a King, he played the harp for Saul. So he was a talented musician.
God is the only one worthy of our adoration and praise. So I always start my prayers with credit.
We sing a song at Christmas, “O Come Let Us Adore Him.”
King David Prayer
The earth is the Lord’s, and [a]all it contains,
The world and those who dwell in it.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers.
3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
And who may stand in His holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted his soul [b]to falsehood
And has not sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive a blessing from the Lord
And [c]righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 [d]This is the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face—even Jacob. [e]Selah.
7 Lift up your heads, O gates,
And be lifted up, O [f]ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord is strong and mighty,
The Lord is mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O gates,
And lift them up, O [g]ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah.
This psalm praises God, the King of Glory. Selah means to think about the passage. Some of the attributes of God are He is strong and mighty. He is mighty in battle.
Prayer
Father God, create in me a clean heart, search me, and know if I have any anxiety or worry. Thank you that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Today Lord, I adore you; you are the King of Glory. In Jesus’s name, amen.
Beloved, let us adore Him. Will you praise Him today?
