Adventure Continues
Day 2
Beloved, the dusty road with Jesus is filled with pebbles, rocks, gravel, dirt, and when the rain comes big mud puddles. Daily to go to the city where I work as a case manager, I must travel on this dusty road. It is not uncommon to be surprised by a squirrel, or if we are really lucky a deer or a turtle. The wild life along with the wild flowers are the benefits of being in this rural town. Our word today for our journey with Jesus is trust. The definition of trust is firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. Trust can be found in the Bible 170 times.
Thoughts
Our verse is from Proverbs 3: 5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
When you walk the dusty road with Jesus, daily we have the opportunity to trust Jesus. Sunday I went to a new church. We left California September 18, 2018 and I left my church home. I didn’t realize how much I have missed my church but yet I strive to find a replacement. As I listened to the sermon, what struck me was the profoundness of his message. We need to tell others about our Savior. Jesus
Do you know how to introduce someone to Jesus? The best way is to smile. Why are you smiling–one will ask. Let me tell you about my hope. I have hope. Romans 3:23 says, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 says, the wages of sin is death, the gift of God is eternal life. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Of course one should know John 3: 16-17
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
Today, during my dusty journey as a nursing case manager, I had the opportunity to witness to a young girl who I have known for a little over a year. Troubled with anxiety, I shared with her a new how I pray from the word PART. Praise, admission, request, and thanksgiving. I gave her a book and a journal. Who are you mentoring?
In addition to her, I was able to pray with a patient’s husband. This morning I spent time reading a new book that will be out in August by Wendy Blight, on Rest for Your Soul and as I read the book, I gleaned my dusty road with Jesus was exciting because I was in the word. After all, I was trusting and obeying and not leaning on my own understanding.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank you for the dusty road I travel with you today. Thank you that you have given me so many beautiful opportunities to share your love. Tomorrow Lord, may I be open to tell the good news that Jesus Christ saves.
