Adventures on the dusty road involve choice and trust

Beloved, many choose a word for the year and mine this year is trust. My verse is found in Proverbs 3: 5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”

Word

Our word is trust– trust means firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. Trust is in the Bible 138 times.

Daily at the hospital, I walk the halls, I’ve a name badge and a jacket, an honest face, a willingness to sit and listen and this conveys a trustworthiness that I care about the patient. Integrity is all I’ve got when it comes to giving back to my employer. I really strive to do a good job. As a case manager, a safe timely  discharge is the ultimate goal.

Thoughts

Today in our Bible reading in Genesis 14-16, we witness Sarai run ahead of God. God had promised to make Abram into a great nation but Sarah was barren. What happens when we run ahead of God? God allows us to suffer the consequences of our choices however for Hagar, God became El-Roi. The God who sees. God knew where Hagar was. He knew what dusty road she was on. What delay or what circumstances are you trusting God with today, or do is there something you need to entrust God?

Tomorrow’s reading is Genesis 17-19.

Will you worship God while you wait?

Father God, I trust you while I wait, you are the God who sees those who are sick and need healing. I entrust my family to you. In Jesus’s name. Amen.

Love this Diana! I didn’t realize that the word ‘Trust’ is in the Bible 138 times. God keeps bringing me back to Prov 3:5-6, learning to not lean on my own understanding isn’t always easy. I’m so thankful for God’s grace and how patient He is with me. Blessings sweet sister, you have a beautiful blog!

Thank you for this reminder today, Diana! I am trusting God with the release of a new book that feels uncertain and a bit scary because it is so very raw and honest. This was just what I needed to read today!
