Beloved, my week began with a doctor’s visit to an ophthalmologist
Twice a year, enduring a test, oh it is not painful; it is following a light to check my peripheral vision. In order to do this test correctly, one must gaze at the light in the center at all times; to be honest, I want to cheat and let my eye wander. To make matters worse, I only have peripheral vision in my left eye. Why is it important, I only have my right eye to see as I am blind in my left eye except for peripheral vision.
Our verse today is setting the Lord always before us. Recently I feel, I’ve been struggling with my flesh. Have you ever had a week where you have been on edge? Where life does not seem fair. I noticed it start creeping in and my attitude seemed to reflect one of complaining.
Encouragement
In the verses, Psalm 16: 8-11, God shows him the path of life. Daily we have a dusty road to walk. We’ve a choice to be in an angst or to be thankful, grateful and to be a vessel willing to serve the Lord.
In your presence is the fullness of joy.
Perhaps, you have had a day, when you felt like going back to bed and getting up again on the other side to see if this corrected your attitude. Please remember that God never leaves or forsakes you. You are loved with an ever-lasting love. Here’s my checklist.

- did you read your bible
- did you study your bible
- did you write out a scripture to share
- did you sing
- did you check your thoughts
- did you guard your tongue.
On the dusty road I live some of my time is involved in preparing to lead others as I am involved in Bible Study Fellowship. Before I can lead a discussion group I have my own time in the Bible. Last week, we began the study of Revelation. Prophecy is important. We know how the story ends. I loved how Jesus foretold what was going to happen so we could believe when it happens. Additionally, I mentor three other women leading a group through the study of Elijah. Elijah prayed. Elijah is a mighty prophet. More to come.
Why am I doing this? First, I love God’s word. Second, we need to mentor other’s and encourage people to read the Bible. We need to be bold.
As I mentor others, I am encouraged myself. Additionally, on the dusty road, the Bible gives us instruction on how to handle opportunities.

Is what I will be
Come, take your place Lord
What joy do I see
Oh, what a thrill
I’ll sail in His light
With joy in my heart
He will be my delight
Through unknow waters
Through currents of love
Guiding me always
By His stars up above
He’ll take me to places
That I’ve never known
To show me new things
I’ve never been shown
Oh, what a ship
I’m all fitted out
I’m ready to sail
Victory I’ll shout
He bought me, a wreck!
And made me brand new
I’m shining with life
New ways are in view.

Conclusion
We are to follow the Light just as I did to pass the eye test. We are to be willing vessels that God can use. Don’t get me wrong, there are times when I complain, and I quickly have to repent. I think of the cracked vessel, with a little bit of glue, it can still be used. It might just need to have a plate under neath it and filled more often.
Father God, use me, as your vessel. As I walk the dusty road, may I share the love of Jesus with others. In Jesus’s name, Amen
