All we need is love, God’s love.
Beloved, there is a popular secular song, “What the World Needs is Love,” by Jackie DeShannon. Do you agree that the world needs love?
Today is day one of a series I have titled 31 Glimpses of God’s Beauty. If you have not read my introduction, you can read it here. Our word is need. Need is in the Bible 148 times. As a verb, it is defined as require (something) because it is essential or imperative. As a noun, circumstances in which something is necessary or involves some course of action; necessity.
Glimpses of God daily are seen in our world. God is Spirit. When we try to humanize God, we miss the splendor that one can see each day. Be aware today. Take time to see and feel God’s love. Recently I returned to work as a nurse; I am so mindful of God’s grace, goodness, and most of all, His love. He gives every good gift, and He wants to meet your needs.
Ponder
What are some needs? Air, water, food, and love are all basic needs. One does not think about the air we breathe until the air is full of smog, pollution, smoke, or the mere act of breathing is compromised. Take a deep breath and ponder God’s love.
It is crucial to note needs and wants are different. So often do not see that God has met our requirements because our desires are in the way.
“And my God will give you everything you need because of His great riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19.
[Tweet “May I be so bold to say what the world needs, is God’s love, sweet love.”]
He provides for eternal life through Jesus Christ. Jesus is God’s son who was with God in the beginning, yet, born of a virgin, lived here on earth and was crucified for our sins so that we can experience God’s love. When did you accept Jesus as your savior?
The secular song says we need love, sweet love; I would be so bold to say all we need is God’s love.
[Tweet “Because of Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross and resurrection, I have all I need.”]
Testimony
I asked Jesus to be my savior when I was eleven years old. I can remember being at camp and hearing the message about Jesus. As I sat under a tree, I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and become an essential part of my life.
Jesus is my savior; I have my reservation to heaven. Do you have yours? Speaking of heaven, I am looking forward to walking on the streets of gold to see the loved ones that have gone before me, but God has given me what I need until then.
Will you give your needs to God? Will you ask in faith with no doubting?
“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” James 1:6 ESV
Father God, thank you for being God and for meeting our needs. You are the alpha, the omega at the beginning of the end. You are sovereign, and you reign. You love us with everlasting love. And because of you, each one of us is fearfully and wonderfully made. In Jesus’s name, amen.
Beloved, what are your wants, desires, and needs? God gives us the desires of our hearts, but Jesus has to be in your heart. So will you give your heart to Jesus?
