An Education Fit For A King

I’ve my Master’s Degree in Nursing, however, the reason is because I returned to school to get the three credits I needed for my Bachelor’s Degree. I graduated with an Associate Degree in nursing and then I went into management of a home health agency. I needed a Bachelor’s Degree for the job I already had. So I returned to school, and the school let’s you earn six units by taking exams. So I passed the exam for gerontology and thought I could do the same for education psychology. I sat for the exam and missed passing by one point, so I still needed three units. During the wait time to try again, I studied for the exam and I took the exam and I missed it by one point. Then I was hired as Director of Nursing and I really needed my degree.

Psalm 119:144

Moses our biblical hero from chapter eleven of Hebrews is placed in a waterproof basket in the river and the Pharaoh’s daughter finds him. Moses must have been a beautiful baby because she adopts him and hires his biological mother to nurse him.

Read with me from Wikipedia,

Through the Pharaoh’s daughter (identified as Queen Bithia in the Midrash), the child was adopted as a foundling from the Nile river and grew up with the Egyptian royal family.

He received the finest care and received the best education. According to articles on Moses we read the following.

Moses owed his lawgiving, politics, etc., to the princess; his religion to Jochebed.

Read with me the account of Moses in Acts 7

In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father’s house three months:

21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds. Acts 7: 20-22.

Here is the account of Moses in Exodus 2

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it.

10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. Exodus 2: 5-10.

Beloved, Moses was saved from certain death, he was protected and educated and loved by two mothers.

We will learn more about Moses however for today the lesson is God protects us and gives us a hope and a future.

Read with me this promise in Jeremiah 29:11.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11.

Lesson

Beloved what circumstance in your life have you endured and then you look back and see God’s plan?

Conclusion

So, I returned to school for the three units that I needed for my bachelor’s degree and I met the most wonderful encouraging teacher, Tricia Hunter. She encouraged me to stay in school and she is really the first person that recognized that I could write.

What might God be encouraging you to do for Him?

Father God, just as you protected Moses, protect us from this current crisis. You are God and worthy of our praise, You are our provider, You draw us out of the water, and You draw us close to you. You promise to give us a hope and a future, you promise to draw near to us when we draw near to you. I pray for each person reading Your Words that they may be encouraged that you work in the circumstances of our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Where is God asking you to serve Him?
