Lisa-Jo Baker has an amazing blog. I am a member of Compel and I heard her share about how her blog developed her writing skills. She wrote an amazing book, “Surprised by Motherhood.” On Friday she sends out a word and encourages us to write for five minutes what ever comes in to your mind, link up your blog, the only rule is to read the blog before yours and encourage the person who wrote the blog. The word this week is belong.
I love acrostics. BELONG- when I think of the word belong I think of how I belong to Christ. B-Beloved I am my Lord’s beloved. E-Embrace I feel the love of God and as I embrace His promises I am in awe of His grace. L-Love I love God because He first loved me. O-Obedience. Obedience leads me to the cross and as I walk with the Lord, I trust and obey. N-New I am a reNewed everyday because His mercies are new every morning. G-Great Great is His faithfulness.
The five minutes are up. Do you belong to Christ? John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. Eternal life begins now. I am my beloveds and He is mine. I belong to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. I am a sinner saved by Grace. I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was eleven years old. Because I belong, I am in awe of His majesty every single day.
How do you celebrate belonging to Jesus?
Father God, thank you for sending your son Jesus. Thank you that I belong to Jesus. Your word in Romans 8:38-39 says nothing can separate me from your love. Lord, for the woman reading this blog that has not accepted you as her savior, draw her to you. For the woman, who is struggling with feelings that she does not belong, let her embrace you. Help me trust and obey for there is no other way. Your mercies are new every morning, I am renewed daily as I lean not on my own understanding but I trust in you and your word. Great is your faithfulness. Thank you that I belong. Blessings.
