“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
God is the burden bearer. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Sure sound like a promise to me. What does weary mean? What does burden mean?
The women in biblical times during their menstrual cycle deemed unclean for those six to seven days. But this woman, I am going to call her Rebecca, Rebecca suffers now for twelve years with bleeding. She knew the meaning of weary? Well-meaning people gave her unsolicited advice in the beginning. However, her issue with blood continued to happen day after day. Unclean, she would have to yell when she went to town to get her groceries. The shame she felt, Night after night she would cry herself to sleep, hoping tomorrow that God would heal her.
Rebecca hears that Jesus is in town, she knows she unclean because of the issue of blood and can’t be where the Savior walks but she feels if she can touch the robe of Jesus he will heal her. She rushes quietly not yelling “unclean” as is customary, pushes in and reaches for the hem of his outer robe. She had said to her self in Matthew 9:21,”If I only touch His outer robe, I will be healed.” Beloved, can you imagine what happens next! I love the Amplified Bible. Jesus with his piercing brown eyes turns and gazes into her eyes and seeing her said in verse 22, “Take courage, daughter, your (personal trust and confident faith (in ME) has mad you well,” and at once the woman was (completely) healed.
Rebecca, had a burden for twelve years God is a burden bearer. What is your burden? chronic illness, adult children not walking with the Lord, adult children out of work, divorce, separation, child with a learning disability, juggling a job and home, too many bills. God is the burden bearer. Beloved will you give your burdens to God?
Father God, I adore you you alone are the burden bearer. Thank you for bearing our burdens daily. If anyone does not know you in the free pardon of sin, let them please to accept you as their Lord and Savior. If they need a fresh new commitment, let them start fresh with you because you are a God of second chances. In Jesus’ name Amen.

April 3, 2016 at 4:25 pmI praise God because he is my burden bearer and I sure do keep him busy as I know a lot of people do. I do try to handle things my way only to find I just can’t so finally end of giving it to Him. I wish I would think to give it to Him First!! That would probably make things so much easier. Blessings to you my sister
