CELEBRATE
Go.
Celebrate definition is a significant happy event. We celebrate weddings, christenings, birthdays, promotions, and graduations. I remember celebrating significant events in my life. When one celebrates, usually there is a significant event to celebrate. In Luke 15, recording the parable of the lost son. Jesus often told parables to make a point. This pnothing can arable is about the younger son who leaves his father and older brother requesting his share of the inheritance. After spending his inheritance and having nowhere to go, he returns home apologizing for his mistakes offering to work as a slave. The father looking for him, celebrates his return. However his older brother not so much. His father throws a celebration and then speaks to his oldest son who does not go to the celebration.
“ ‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ ” John 15: 31-32
Jesus states his purpose in Luke 19:10, “The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” When we stray, rebel, let sin separate us from the love of God, He seeks, saves and celebrates us returning.
Stop.
Beloved, is there anything separating you from the love of God? In Romans 8:37-39 is the promise that nothing can separate us from the love of God. What do you do each day to celebrate God’s love, joy, and peace?
