Usually, at this time of the year, I am in a total frenzy. My husband does not wrap Christmas presents so this usually falls on me. Historically, I over buy Christmas so I usually have many presents to wrap. This year being in Oklahoma I had to shop early because of mailing constraints. So I’ve finished except for one present a present for my husband. He is so hard to buy a gift.
What a beautiful present we received from God. Jesus, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the great I Am, came to earth as a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger according to Luke 2:12.
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:12
Beloved, what are you hoping for this holiday season? Why do we exchange gifts? What happens when we do not get a gift in return?
I think we exchange gifts to show the other person our love. Jesus’ gifts are gold, frankincense, and myrrh according to Matthew 2:11. In the past, I have felt resentment when I do not receive a gift, but then I realize that I have given what I have given because I wanted to honor that person. I do want to acknowledge that it hurts when an expectation is not met but we have to give God our expectations.
So let go and Let God be your gift for the season.
I still have no idea what to get for my husband, maybe a pair of UGG boots, and guess what his birthday is the 29th of December. I am glad Jesus is my present this year for Christmas.
Father God, thank you for the gift of Jesus. Father, I pray Romans 15: 13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” for anyone who is reading this blog. As they trust in you they will find peace, hope, and joy, In Jesus name. Amen
What do you need to do to make Jesus the center of your Christmas?

December 23, 2017 at 4:45 amMerry Christmas to you and your family, Diana! My hubby and I buy for each other, but we go shopping together the weekend before Christmas and get what we want, so that takes the struggle of wondering what to buy away.
I am guilty of over buying for the kids and grandkids in the past. This year we decided to cut back, and we stuck to a budget. I want our grandchildren to learn the true meaning of Christmas, and to cherish time with family.
I too, am so grateful that Jesus is the Real Gift of Christmas!
You remain in my prayers, my friend, and I love you! ❤️ Merry Christmas! 🎄
