Introduction
Who do you witness? Do you share with the grocery clerk? How about your next door neighbor? Recently, I was having lunch in Springfield, Missouri and we were seated close to the next table. Distinctly, I felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit to talk to the lady at the next table.
Scripture
Consider mine affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget thy law.
154 Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes.
156 Great are thy tender mercies, O Lord: quicken me according to thy judgments.
157 Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; yet do I not decline from thy testimonies.
158 I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word.
159 Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O Lord, according to thy lovingkindness.
160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
My Thoughts
The Psalmist continues to count on the Lord. He apparently suffered some sort of pain or illness. He asks for healing. He knows that God is the Great Physician. Additionally, he knows the power in the Word of God.
He declares that God’s mercies are tender and new every morning. Remember the promise in Lamentations.
It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
Lamentations 3:22-24.
He declares his dependency on God and His Word.
Verse by verse, the Psalmist prays what He knows.
Conclusion
What do we know? We know that God’s Word is true and that we can count on God to meet our needs. God’s mercies are new every morning. I am in awe of His mercies and how he has healed me over the years.
Today, I learned that God has healed my right eye from Glaucoma. Long story short the doctor said today, he sees no sign of Glaucoma in my right eye.
Father God, as I consider Your Ways, I am in awe of Your majesty. I love you, Lord.
So the lady at the table was open to me talking to her, I invited her to Bible Study Fellowship. Even though she did not live in the area, I planted the seed of studying God’s Word.
What is God asking you to do in response to this post?
