Beloved, our word is danger; the danger is in the Bible seven times, and the definition of dangerous is able or likely to cause harm or injury.
The verses on danger are in the New Testament. In one such poem, the disciples were in a boat with Jesus, Jesus was asleep, and the storm presented a danger.
But as they were sailing along, He fell asleep; a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and in danger. Luke 8:23
Recently, my friend had a tree fall on her house; this is dangerous–the good news is no one was hurt. However, we care for patients in traumatic accidents daily at the hospital; most face danger.
The nurses and doctors I work with are amazing. I see them caring for the patients tirelessly. Heros that work day after day.
Beloved, what helps us when we face danger? We have to be safe in our surroundings.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 1 John 4:18
King David Prayer
Consider Psalm 3, when King David prayed for his enemies as the danger was near him.
O Lord, how my adversaries have increased!
Many are rising against me.
2 Many are saying [b]of my soul,
“There is no [c]deliverance for him in God.” [d]Selah.
3 But You, O Lord, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
4 I was crying to the Lord with my voice,
And He answered me from His holy [e]mountain. Selah.
5 [f]I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousand people
Who has set themselves against me roundabout?
7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God!
For You [g]have smitten all my enemies on the [h]cheek;
You [i]have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
8 [j]Salvation belongs to the Lord;
Your blessing [k]be upon Your people! Selah.
Whether you face danger or not, God is always with you.
Prayer
Father God,
Create in me a clean heart. Search me and know if there is any worry or anxiety. Thank you that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I will not be afraid. You are with me always. I do not have to be afraid. In Jesus’s name. Amen
When you are afraid, who do you turn to?
Salvation belongs to the Lord; have you accepted the Lord?
