God being always present is mind-boggling. The word ever-present or omnipresent is not in the Bible but there are verses that prove God’s presence. He is all-knowing, omniscient and all-powerful, omnipotent. He is God. He is our Creator. He knows us and loves us. My favorite Psalm is Psalm 139. As I was researching today to write this blog, I found this entry at Josh Mc Dowell. Beloved, Josh was an atheist and he became a believer trying to prove that Jesus did not exist. He writes, “Because God is ever-present…
He is always with me.
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to You; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You. (Psalms 139:7-12)
- all creation is dependent upon His presence (Col. 1:17)
- God’s continual presence brings contentment (Heb. 13:5)
- God is everywhere and no one can escape Him (Ps. 139:7-12)
- no task is too large or too difficult for Him (Jer. 32:17, 27)
- One cannot hide from God (Jer. 23:23-24)
Beloved, if you would like to read further there is an excellent article in Bible Hub on our Ever-Present God.
Father God, where can we go and hide from your presence? Adam and Eve tried to hide after they ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Yet you Lord not only sought them, you provided for them. Lord Your love is so amazing. You have the whole world in your hands.
Heaven Is God’s Throne
1Thus says the LORD,
“Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool.
Where then is a house you could build for Me?
And where is a place that I may rest?
2“For My hand made all these things,
Thus all these things came into being,” declares the LORD.
“But to this one I will look,
To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
Isaiah 66:1-2
