Thanks to a blog I subscribe to “My Sweet Peanut” I found this blog, “Finish This!” Weekly they post statements and the writer completes the statements. This is week 37 so I have missed a week or two. LOL So the statements are I am serious about, I am most relaxed when, and there is no place like?
I am serious about my relationship with God. My maternal grandmother taught me to love God, to love my family, and to never learn how to clean catfish! I love God because He first loved me. God created Adam and Eve for relationship. He desires a relationship with each of us. His love letter to us is the Bible. My relationship began with child like faith when I was eleven years old. I was sitting under a tree at camp and Jesus became real to me that day.
Yes, I knew that I was a sinner at the tender age of 11. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” You see my friend, in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrated his own love for us in this. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 6″23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” On that day at camp, I confessed my need for forgiveness. Romans 10:9, “that if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” In the following verse Romans 10:10, “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” The next verse says that anyone who trust in God will not be put to shame. Then we have this promise in Romans 10:13, which says, “for ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” If you would like to read more about salvation, here is a link to the Roman Roadway. http://theromanroad.org
At this time in my life, I have to say, that choice was the most important choice I ever made. Daily, I seek him in prayer and through his word.
I am most relaxed when I am in our fifth wheel. We just returned from a time of refreshment at Santee Lakes. There is something about being near a lake with ducks. I was able to read, write, pray, and reconnect with my husband. We have a West Highland Terrier and we took her for walks. She has never seen a cat and she saw a cat at the campgrounds. My second place I am most relaxed is in my room. I have my books, my computer, and my tablet all at my fingertips. My last place I find to be relaxing is taking a hot shower. I can clear my head and plan my day or unwind after a stressful day. So your turn, where are you most relaxed?
The last question is there is no place like ? According to Dorothy in the “Wizard of Oz” there is no place like home. For me there is no place like the ocean. I love Psalm 139:17-18, “How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.” My dear friend that is a lot of thoughts. So when I am at the ocean, I think of how much God loves us.
