“Five Minute Friday- a time to write and share on one word for five minutes. The only rule is to read another person’s post and encourage one another. Lisa-Jo Baker started this, she wrote “Surprised By Motherhood,” she has successful handed the baton over to Kate Motaung http://katemotaung.com/five-minute-friday/
The word this week is TELL.
Go.
My first thought when I saw the word was the songs I know with the word TELL. Go Tell It On The Mountain. Tell Me The Story of Jesus. The song I was thinking when I looked it up does not have the word TELL in the song but the song is about the wondrous words of life. We should be telling people about the wondrous words of life. The wondrous work of Jesus on the cross. I met a lady last week with ovarian cancer. I asked if she had faith, and she said “NO” my heart stopped, I rarely get the answer No. Because I work in corporate America, I didn’t pursue her faith, instead I told her I had enough faith to know that she would get the help she needed and then I did all I could do to be the smile and arms of Jesus and help her for the few minutes that I had this chance encounter. In the end, I wished I could have told her more but I felt God gave me the words to tell her that I had faith for her like the men in Mark 2 who helped the paralytic man to Jesus. I am praying for her to have faith one day an to tell others about Jesus.
Stop.
Everyday we encounter people who need Jesus. TELL= Truth, Encouragement, Love and Life.
Here is the song I thought had the word TELL in it. LOL!!!!!
Sing them over again to me,
Wonderful words of life,
Let me more of their beauty see,
Wonderful words of life;
Words of life and beauty
Teach me faith and duty.
Refrain:
Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life;
Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life.
Christ, the blessed One, gives to all
Wonderful words of life;
Sinner, list to the loving call,
Wonderful words of life;
All so freely given,
Wooing us to heaven.
Sweetly echo the Gospel call,
Wonderful words of life;
Offer pardon and peace to all,
Wonderful words of life;
Jesus, only Savior,
Sanctify us forever.
