God whispers don’t be exasperated, two ways to prevent anger.
What is the best advice you have received? Beloved, the best advice I received from my mom was don’t go to bed angry.
Prevention
On the eve of my wedding, my mom sweetly said, “Honey, marriage challenges even the best person, so don’t go to bed angry.”
Then, to discover it is biblical advice, my heart rejoices.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness goes a long way to prevent one from being exasperated. Exasperated means to be intensely irritated and frustrated. It is not in the Bible. Yet we read much on not being worried, anxious, or angry.
The Bible says to be angry but do not sinful. How does one become angry and not sin? Anger is in the Bible 226 times.
“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:” Ephesians 4:26. KJV.
God whispers, do not sin in your anger.
Two Ways
Beloved two ways to be angry and not sin.
- Pray
- Forgiveness
Pray
Remember, prayer ushers us into the presence of God. One will never go wrong to take a deep breath and send a 911 prayer to God to help one to calm down. In II Corinthians, we read we are to take our thoughts captive to the Lord.
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:5. KJV.
God whispers take control of your thoughts, and you do not have to say everything you are thinking.
Forgiveness
Beloved, walk in forgiveness. God tells us to forgive seven times seven.
“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?” Matthew 18:21. KJV.
The reality is that we are required to forgive just as God has forgiven us. Forgiveness helps to heal many a relationship. I learned to walk in forgiveness in 1995, and forgiveness saved my marriage.
God whispers walk in forgiveness.
Conclusion
Walk in forgiveness and do not let the sun go down on your anger some of the best advice to prevent one being exasperated.
