God whispers I will grant you success in your profession.
What is your profession? Regardless of what your job is, God whispers, I will never fail you in your career. A profession is a paid occupation, especially one that involves prolonged training and a formal qualification. Because a corporation usually pays one, the corporation will have guidelines bringing success, but these habits are a personal guarantee of success. Regardless of your profession, one must trust God with his or her job.
God whispers, I am with you, and trust me in your profession.

Looking Back
I became a nurse as an adult. Due to illness, I lost my job as a hospital clerk, and the Department of Rehabilitation retrained me after a prolonged illness. I trained first as a Medical Assistant. Upon returning to school, I discovered that I wanted to be a registered nurse.
So, I completed my MA certificate and started taking classes for that all-important degree–Registered Nurse. I kept my eye on the prize and graduated with honors in 1989. Of course, to become a registered nurse, one must pass a state exam. However, they let you begin working in your profession while you waited on the results. Thankfully, I passed the State Boards and proudly signed my name Diana Rockwell, RN. Then I completed my professional degree and received my Master’s Degree.
Trust God
Trusting God with my career became my motto. Read with me these verses in Proverbs.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3: 5-6 KJV.
I trusted him daily through prayer and Bible reading. I asked for success and protection daily. Actually, I kept putting one foot in front of the other; perseverance became a daily goal.

Have Faith
Additionally, I declared this promise over my profession.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end..” Jeremiah 29:11. KJV.
Another version of the Bible states to give you hope and a future. I certainly had hope in my career. As quickly as possible, I left hospital nursing behind and began a twenty-year history with home health. I’ve treated the patient, and I’ve managed the nurses from Director of Nurses to Case Manager, many professional hours spent in this wonderful profession called nursing. In 2010, I returned to the hospital as a Case Manager in charge of discharging patients from the hospital. Although I enjoyed my home health career, I loved my job as a Discharge Planner.
How
How does one trust God in their profession? Recently we studied about Jacob in Bible Study Fellowship. We read how Jacob arrives with just his clothes to seek a wife in Genesis 29. He sees Rachael, falls in love, and volunteers to work seven years for her.
Just as Jacob worked for Rachel, he trusted God that one day she would become his wife. It says that he worked seven years, and it seemed like just a few days in verse 20. Even when Jacob was deceived into marriage by his father-in-law and first married Leah, he did not give up hope in God to be married to Rachel,
so a week after he married Leah, he married Rachel. However, Jacob fulfilled his obligation to Laban by working fourteen years for his two wives. The scripture does not share how hard Jacob worked at his profession, but it does say that God blessed Jacob.
“And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.
And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me. ” Genesis 31:6-7 KJV.
Finally, Jacob leaves his father-in-law and takes his wives because God tells him it is time to go back to the promised land. He leaves as a success.
Success
Beloved, God never left me alone as a nurse. Whether I treated a patient with AIDs or a patient who had his knee replaced, God gave me everything I needed to succeed. God is trustworthy.
“Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.” Psalm 16:1 KJV
God whispers, you can trust me with your career. I enjoyed my professional role as a nurse; now, I am retired and happy to have seen God’s hand in my career.
