I am happy to share that my newest book for children is available. “Grumpy the Gator” shares the story of friends staying safe when they see an alligator in a neighborhood pond. God created the alligators. God’s creations are amazing and there are many ways to learn about gators.
In this story, the friends tell their parents about seeing the alligator. Safety is important around gators and all animals. We should never approach an alligator.
Moving from Virginia to South Carolina, my husband and I have learned about all different kinds of wildlife. From lizards to snakes to coyotes to alligators and more, there are new adventures everyday.
The Lowcountry of South Carolina has many areas of water. Large lakes, the ocean and small neighborhood ponds. Alligators are often seen sunning themselves on the banks of the ponds. Although the gators may seem to be asleep, they can move quickly when needed.
When we take a walk in our neighborhood, we are always on the lookout for alligators. When we see a gator, we don’t go near. Safety first.
I love how God gives us the opportunity to learn about His creations. Each moment is filled with possibilities and wonder. God created glorious blessings for us to enjoy.
Have you enjoyed a walk outside lately? Have you peered out of the window and enjoyed His creations? Share with us.
Blessings,

December 31, 2020 at 12:10 pmI love God’s creation and creatures! They bring joy and teach us much about our great God. And yes, sometimes things are fierce and bigger than we are. We must learn to be wise as we enjoy His world with wonder. Blessings on you and your new book!

December 31, 2020 at 1:08 pmAs new arrivals ourselves to the semi-tropical South, we’ve also had to learn to navigate walks with alligators sunning or lurking near our paved walking paths. We also have lizards and vultures, two of my favorite creatures. The lizards eat the bugs and entertain with their rapid movements as well as their hangouts in our patio umbrella. The vultures keep our streets and highways clean. They remove decay and leave hardly anything behind. This occurred right in front of the house on Christmas Day, and it was fascinating to observe how quickly a group of vultures could dispense with a rabbit carcass killed in the night. Being inquisitive people, our entire family stepped outside to watch. God has a purpose for each of these creatures, and in their many differences we get a glimpse of God’s creativity.
