Redeemed by Christ, living free is my tag line but this wasn’t always true for me. I’ve taken many classes from Dr. Neil Anderson on freedom. Actually, I’ve been in this ministry since 1995. The first time I heard I was a saint not a sinner I wanted to celebrate. You see I’ve been raised that I am a sinner saved by grace and while this is true, I am a saint who sometimes sins. Daily, I start my day in prayer, reading God’s word, taking my thoughts captive to the Lord, so my sinning is at a minimum and 1 John 1:9 covers my sins.
Sanctified = But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name
of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. …1 Corinthians 6:12
Accepts you = So if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed. John 8:36
Initiates a relationship with you = We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Hebrews 12:2
Near to God = Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:7-8
Takes care of us. = And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6
Beloved, take to heart we are saints who sometimes sin, if you find yourself in a sin-confess-sin-confess situation then you need to evaluate the habit of the sin. Is it cursing, eating too much, jealousy, we have to replace the sin with the good, a bible memory verse, a memory of a time that God came through, a whispered prayer. I am redeemed, living free.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
