Swimming in the deep end of the pool always caused me anxiety. So you can imagine how anxious I was when I went into the ocean for the first time.
Scripture
O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. Psalm 92:5.
Thoughts
The ocean was great until I saw the movie, Jaws. From then on, being in the deep end of the pool was far better than being in the ocean.
The word deep is in the Bible 80 times, and it is in the Psalms 15 times.
Psalm 92 is both a Psalm and a song. It was intended to be sung on the Sabbath, the day of rest.
Do you pack your Sunday with the chores that did not get done during the week or do you plan a time of rest on your Sabbath?
God is worthy of our praise, His love for us is deep.
In Psalm 139, it says His thoughts of us is as numerous as the sand on the seashore every single day.
Read and ponder Psalm 92 with me.
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:
To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, Psalm 92: 1-2
Man is superficial but God is complex and deep.
Beloved, how deep is your love for God, do you praise Him in the morning and the night. Do you read His word?
Conclusion
Beloved today is the day to be in the deep end with God. There will be a day when every knee will bow and we will give an account of our actions. Sometimes this scares me because I feel like I am not doing all that I can do. However, in reality, when we walk with the Lord, serve Him, read His word, we are in the deep end with God.
Father God, let me look deep into your eyes, feel your arms, let me praise you, and proclaim your goodness. You are the alpha the omega the beginning the end. You love us. In Jesus’ name, I pray Amen.
