I Have Been So Afraid

What are you afraid? What makes you shiver in fear? Fear of failing, fear of succeeding, fear of heights, fear of an escalator, fear of never being loved? Oh, I could go on you see at one time in my story, fear was a hallmark in my life.

Fear is mentioned over 500 times and afraid over 187 times in the Bible. Adam and Eve were afraid after they sinned. Moses was afraid to go and speak to Pharaoh.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18.

In 1994, I met with three women and prayed through Dr. Neil Anderson’s Steps to Freedom, I learned that every fear has a lie that one is believing. I believed forgiveness was for everyone else but me, that day, I renounced that lie and began to walk in freedom.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

Beloved, we do not have to be afraid. God is with us and for us.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9.

Father God, take this fear of being in a new land away from me. I know you are here with me. Will you give courage to those reading these words. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
