I Hope
Hope defines as a feeling of expectation and a wish for certain things to happen, a feeling of trust, and synonyms for hope are aspiration, desire, wish, expectation, ambition, aim, goal, plan, or design.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
I hope…….
that when your are hopeless, you will turn to God and reach for hope. I Thessalonians 2:19
that when you are struggling with pain, you will turn to God and receive the only lasting pain relief. Revelation 21:4
that when you are helpless, you will turn to God and seek Him his help. Hebrew 4:16
Beloved, God is Hope, God is Joy, God is peace, and God is trust. Many attributes of God lend each of us hope. In Romans 8:15 we receive adoption from God and we are able to call God…….
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
God does not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind in 2 Timothy 1:7. When we give our fears to God, we feel hope. When we give God our hate, we feel hope. When we give God our lust and idols, we feel hope. When we seek God in prayer, we experience hope.
Romans 8: 16, The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God. Beloved, the verse in Romans 8:17 shares we are joint heirs with Christ and when we suffer with Him we will be glorified with him, this gives me much hope. How about you?
Romans 8:24-25
“For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.”
Romans 8: 26-27 shares that God helps us in our weakness.
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God
Beloved, this give me hope, how about you? The Holy Spirit intercedes for us. And then we see in Romans 8:28 that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
The promises of Romans 8: 31-39 that gives me hope, if God is for us who can be against us and nothing can separate us from the love of God.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Just as it is written,
“FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG;
WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.”But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We all need hope. My prayer for you is Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
My friend Dr. Michelle Bengtson will have a book released in 2016 and the title is Hope Prevails. From the depths of depression to the healing grace of God, she writes that Hope Prevails. Do you need some hope? God is the author of hope. I can hardly wait to read this book.
