If Only
Tuesday at Ten
Beloved, have you ever pondered and questioned your actions, “I should have done this or that? or “What if ?” or “If only?”
“If only I did not have migraine headaches, I would not have lost my job!”
“If only I had not married so young, I would not be so unhappy!”
“If only I had not become ill, I would still have my manager’s job!”
My “if only” changes as I trust God with the circumstance. God answers prayers and those prayers answers are In His Time.
Imagine with me, Jesus’s popularity is great because of the miracles He is performing daily. In a house near where Jesus is speaking is a woman, she is pale, suffers from fatigue and loneliness. Because she has an issue with blood, she’s unclean according to the laws of the land. Hemorrhaging for twelve years, she has little strength left. She hears the commotion as the blind man receives his sight, the paralyzed man is able to walk, the leper’s skin restored and she begins to think, “If only, I could get close enough to tough the hem of his garment.” After all, He is the one they call, “Jesus!” She thinks to herself, I have nothing to lose, “if only.” Read with me in Matthew 9: 20-22
The Healing Touch of Jesus
And a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak; for she was saying to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I will get well.” But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well.” At once the woman was made well.…
Hallelujah, she gave her “If only!” to Jesus and she’s healed. This story is in Matthew, Mark and Luke so it is important for us to know that I can trust God with my “If Only’s.”
Because of migraine headaches, I did lose my job but I was able to go to school and I became a nurse. Because I married young, I have two beautiful sons, six grandchildren and a husband who loves me, Because I had a stress related illness in 2010, I left my manager’s job and I have the best job as a nursing case manager helping people.
[Tweet “Trust God with your “If only’s” He has the answers”]
Beloved, my list “if’s only’s” are many and I have seen God’s faithfulness.
What “if only” do you need to trust God to handle?
Father God, when we question “if only, what if, and should have” is really our doubt surfacing. Lord I give you my doubt. I ask for the women reading this to look to you for the answers. Lord I so want to loan them my hope, my trust, my love for you but I can’t do that so I am asking for each woman to say, help me in my unbelief. It only takes the faith of a mustard seed, in Matthew 17:20, Your word says, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Lord remove our “if only’s and move our mountains. Lord I give you ______________________________. Move my mountain. In the Blessed name of Jesus. Amen.
