Introduction to 31 Characteristics of a Believer

The great evangelist Billy Graham wrote a book, How To Be Born Again, that made publishing history by its first printing of 800,000 copies. I heard he made the term “born again” popular. Characteristic’s of a believer starts with being born again. We see the term “born again” in John 3:3.

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.^a ”

Nicodemus a Pharisee asked Jesus, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

Billy Graham, known for his testimony and according to Wikipedia since his ministry began in 1947, conducted more than 400 crusades in 185 countries and territories on six continents.  His message is Jesus Christ is God’s Son. He answers the question how to be born again by sharing in his sermons that everyone is a sinner.  Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” And sin separates us from God. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” But God in His amazing love shared his love, Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Then because of his love, we are justified. Romans 5:9, “Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.  So how can we be born again, Romans 10: 9-10,”that if we confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:13, For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

On September 28, 2017, a movie will be shown depicting how Billy Graham meeting Steve McQueen changed Steve’s life. Steve McQueen thought Billy Graham was the closest thing to God. The newspaper article by Tim Funk says the movie will show the real Bible Billy Graham gave Steve McQueen, it was Billy Graham’s Bible that he used for studying God’s word. Steve McQueen voice will be heard at the end of the movie saying, “I want to change some people’s lives somehow, to tell people I know the Lord,” McQueen says, “I used to be more macho. And now my body is gone, is broken. But my spirit isn’t broken.”
