Beloved sweet friend, is it too hard for you right now? My sweet nephew one day as we were traveling at a very slow pace and he was in his car seat, he said over and over again, “it is too hard for me!”
Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.” Genesis 18:14. ESV.
Sarah and Abraham were in God’s waiting room, they had been promised a child. Sarah even ran ahead of God and tried having a child through her maidservant.
Finally, an angel appeared and shared that the wait was finally over, Sarah would have a child. When she heard the news, she laughed, because she was past the childbearing age. This child would be a miracle.
Beloved, life right now seems hard. We are living in the midst of a pandemic. Every time we go out we are at risk of contracting this virus.
There is so much social unrest, political rhetoric is at an all-time high, many are out of work, many are at danger just by going to work each day and many are sick not with just the virus but other ailments.
May I encourage you today?
God is good, He is good all the time. When God created the world, He declared it to be good.
God is in control. He knows where each of us is struggling and He is with us. His grace is sufficient to meet our needs.
God is faithful. Each day in every way, God is faithful to His beloved children.
God gave Sarah a child, Issac. You can read about this in Genesis 21.
The Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did to Sarah as he had promised. And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the time of which God had spoken to him. Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore him, Isaac. Genesis 21: 1-3. ESV.
At the end of our journey that day, my nephew out of his car seat without a care in the world, playing but his words echoed in my mind.
I often feel that life is too hard but I know in my heart that God’s grace is sufficient for my needs (2 Corinthians 12:9). That nothing can separate me from the love of God (Romans 8: 37-39).
What is too hard for you today? Will you give it to Jesus?
Father God, protect us through this pandemic. Give us peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen
