Introduction
There is a commercial about E. F. Hutton, the premise is “When E. F. Hutton speaks, one listens!” Beloved, God names the stars in Isaiah 40:26 and opens the animal’s mouth in Numbers 22: 28-30, how much more will God speak to us. Today’s scripture we read God speaking to the big fish that swallowed Jonah. Jonah is spat on to the land near the shore of Joppa.
Reading and Assignment
Jonah 2: 8-10, Psalm 50:23, SOAP Psalm 50:23
Scripture
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God. Psalm 50:23.
Observation
We glorify God when we offer praise. When we talk about God, we honor Him. God is honored when we witness about His love and His ways.
Application
How do you edify God? Does God only hear complaints from you and a list of wants? Or does He hear praise and thanksgiving from you? What miracle is God working in your life?
Prayer
Father God, thank You for the blessings in my life. You are the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. You say that even the rocks will cry out to witness for you. If you can prepare a fish and then make the fish spit out Jonah, are You not as concerned for me and my needs. Lord, for anyone who has doubts, will you meet them where they are at and meet their needs. Will you calm the storm, where there is more month than money, will You give the resources needed? Will you meet the woman who is struggling in her marriage? Will you give relief to those who suffer from chronic illness? Give each of us a miracle. In Jesus name, Amen.
Conclusion
Jonah is saved, we see in Jonah 2, Jonah running towards God. Miracles still happen today? However, more importantly, do you love God even if you are in the belly of the fish?
