Be Still and Know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
My mother-in-law is ill and someone is with her twenty-four hours a day. Sitting with her yesterday she said, “I should wear a bikini!” Did I just hear that? The conversation is comical. She needs to sit with her legs raised and while I am in the room she listens but trust me she finds a reason to put her legs down. Am I this way with God, I know that being still before God and listening is the key foundation to worship. When we listen to that quiet still voice of God, we are reassured that He is our Abba, Father. He loves us and gave us His son so that we may have eternal life. [Tweet “Listening to God is an art leading to the heart of God.”] But sometimes I forgo that time of listening because I am too busy even though I know it is the best part of my quiet time. Just like my mother-in-law does not like to elevate her legs but has to, we need to practice the art of listening.
