Do you have selective hearing, do you struggle when you have to listen? Do you have a time in your quiet time where you listen to the Lord?
Scripture
Thoughts
“Oh be careful little ears what you hear, the Father up above is looking down in love,” I’ve taught this song and sang it many times to children.
We do need to be careful what we are listening to and what we are hearing.
I think the art of listening is difficult.
As I get older, I’m struggling with doing two things at once. I used to be able to do this. In our Psalm today, we see the Psalmist declare his dependence on God.
I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4.
This Psalm is another Psalm that a prophecy is fulfilled in the New Testament regarding Jesus. Read verse 20 with me.
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. Psalm 34:20.
Jesus as He hung on the cross, not one of His bones were broken, read with me the fulfillment in the gospel of John.
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: John 19: 33.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus sweetness name I know. Jesus is worth listening to. Jesus delivers us from all our fears.
What do you struggle with when you listen?
Do you have trouble hearing God? All we have to do is read His Word and we hear God’s voice.
Father God, You are amazing. May I always listen to you. In Jesus’ name Amen
