Marching With Joy -Day 4
Beloved, Joy is from within our hearts. King David in this Psalm is asking for renewal and for God to create in him a pure heart. David was a man after God’s own heart, yet he made mistakes. There was a time when he was idle and did not go to war. He saw Bathsheba and requested her presence. Then David tried to hide a pregnancy. King David sent Bathsheba’s husband to war, and Bathsheba’s husband was killed. Unfortunately, the baby that their union created did not survive. Beloved, it took a while before King David prayed and reconciled with God. It takes Nathan coming to him to show him the error of his ways. We read about this in 2 Samuel 12.
Once David recognizes his sin confesses, he writes Psalm 32 and Psalm 51. In Psalm 51, King David pleas with God to restore the joy of his salvation to him. Sweet friend, do you have something interrupting the joy of your salvation? Any unconfessed sin?
Are you harboring resentment or unforgiveness?
Joy stealers can be anything that prevents you from experiencing happiness. Will you pray for a willing spirit? I am reading Proverbs, a chapter a day, will you join me?
Being in God’s word and praying daily is the recipe for success for joy.
Going for a walk, talking with a friend add to finding joy and happiness.
What will you do today? Listen to this version of Joy to the World
