Beloved, joy can mark your life every day. Today, I found myself overwhelmed at work, saying I can’t do this. I had to snap myself out of my pity party. The best part was I was only in that hostile place for a few moments because I remembered I could do all things through Jesus Christ, who gives me strength.
The Psalmist declares that the Lord is always before him because God is at his right hand. Therefore, he will not be moved. Thus, the confidence expressed in God and the joy in the presence of God is the fullness of God’s presence in our lives.
Today’s verse
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1: 3-4.
Comfort and joy go hand and hand. Joy is something we can experience every day. Joy is in the Bible 242 times, and one of my favorites is in Nehemiah.
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10. NIV.
The above verse is good to memorize.
So later in the morning, two blessings occurred, we were honored at work by being notified, and we were given a raise, and then I went to the nurse’s station, and the nurses had bought me a gift and given me a card for working so hard for them. Wow, talk about joy.
What filled your day with joy today?
Father God, thank you for joy-filled moments. In Jesus’s name Amen.
I am loved by God, the alpha, the omega, the beginning, the end. According to the Bible, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am a saint who sometimes sins. I believe that Jesus is God's son and that He died on the cross to give me eternal life. I am married to my high school sweet heart Doug. I have been blessed by two adult sons Randy and Dale, who are married and I have six grandchildren Christian, Seth, Ethan, Hunter, Sabrina and Emerson. I became a nurse as an adult. I have had an amazing career and give all the glory to God.
