Mercy

God’s Attribute

 

Warm breeze through my hair, sand between my toes, waves splashing upon the rocks, I sit thinking of God’s love and His mercy. God’s mercy endures for ever.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

The beach is my favorite place where I can see God’s majesty. God’s mercy is great, plenteous, tender, abundant, it is from everlasting to everlasting as we see in the Psalm.

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. Psalm 59:16

What separates goodness and mercy? We know that God is good all the time.  Beloved, God is good all the time.  According to Arthur W. Pink who wrote, “The Attributes of God”, the mercy of God has its spring in the Divine goodness. God wants to relieve the misery of fallen creatures. Mercy is extended to all men and women and His creation. His mercies are new every morning. Jesus is our Mediator between God and man, there is a sovereign mercy for those who have accepted Jesus as our savior.

God can never cease to be merciful, He is always Good. Mercy is part of His divine essence. Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. Psalm 115:5

God declares whom He will show mercy, “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Romans 9:15

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

What area of your life do you need to give to God and feel His forgiveness and mercy?

Father God, Great is thy faithfulness, Your mercies are new every morning, thank you for Your love and Your goodness and Your mercy. Thank you that you extend your mercy and goodness to me and those that are reading this blog. Even when bad things happen, You are a good and merciful God.
