Five-Minute-Friday’s A time to write for five minutes on a word, then link with other writer’s who have written on the same word. The word this week is neighbor.
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14
1965 I watch flood waters cover the south end of Dodge City, Kansas. Curiosity fills me because my daddy’s out warning people; he’s a police officer. I’m standing at Boot Hill with my mom. Natural disaster like a flood and Hurricane Harvey bring horrible outcomes for people but it’s a time when neighbors help neighbors. Criticism seems easy to give instead of praise for the efforts offered for the victims. According to Galations 5:14 we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. I don’t remember the outcome of the flood in 1965 except it resolved. My brother and dad were safe. God’s in control and will help those in need. Beloved, how are you doing in loving your neighbor? Are you ready to get your feet dirty?

Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’… Matthew 28: 37-39

September 1, 2017 at 5:12 pmI’ve been reflecting on how in 2011 Minot ND rallied together as many were flooded out of their homes. It’s sad and also amazing how storms etc help us to be better neighbors. I’m in the 51 spot this week.
