The word today is weekend but when I made my landing page I copied the words the page did not come as the chart and my good friend did not catch my mistake until this week. So I am writing on the word aware. Our country is in need of prayer. John Wesley quote, “Prayer is where the action is!” Beloved, are we aware of the crisis our country is in. I love it when my husband is working in the yard so I can turn the television off, for four years we have cared for his mom so we have had to share the television and he is a news junkie. I am so aware of what is going on in the world and the need for prayer. How can we become more prayer aware?
1 Corinthians 14:15 says: So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding.
We need to understand what we are praying, what we are doing. This is partly why I love to write my prayers because it engages my mind, and yes keeps me awake. The verse says sing with my spirit. I love this. I often sing in my worship time. I praise God for who he is and for what he is doing in my life and the lives of those I love.
Matthew 6:6 tells us how: But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
We need to be aware by being by ourselves, being alert, not being pretentious, seeking the Lord, having our prayer warrior room.
Lastly, James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
We need one another to be aware, as we confess our sins. America needs to confess her sins. The prayers of a righteous person is effective.
Beloved, I know your prayers are effective. I love you and count you a blessing.
P. S. this took longer than 5 minutes to write but we need to be prayer aware.
The best quote is from Tracie Miles. “The best way to pray without ceasing is to not say AMEN”
