Psalm 119

Psalm 119 is the longest Book in the Bible and is believed to have been written by David. If you know me, you will know how much I love acrostic poems, and Psalm 119 is an example of an alphabetic acrostic Psalm. Each section is from the Hebrew alphabet and contains eight verses. The Hebrew alphabet has twelve letters so 8 X 12 =176 verses.

I have been selected by Love God Greatly to facilitate an 8-week study of Psalm 119 beginning on June 15th. I would love to have you join me in this study.

For the purpose of this study, we will use the S. O. A. P. method, of which I am fairly new at.

The “S” stands for Scripture. From the reading assignment there will be 2 to 3 verses to write out. I used the computer but there will be a guide available for download or you can use a journal.

The next section is “O” for Observation. As you write out the verses, what have you observed?

The “A” is Application. How can you apply the verses to your own life?

Lastly, the “P” is for Prayer. Write out a prayer using the scripture.  This is one of my favorite parts.
