S- Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.
O.. God’s word is known as the law and commands. To Understanding is something to be attained by asking God. To keep God law is to obey and we can’t do it half-hearted. God gives us understanding, and direction which results in delight.
A What do we when we lack understanding? We need to ask God to understand. When it is difficult to obey and keep His word, what do you do? We need to come before him in prayer and ask for the willingness to obey God’s word with all of our heart. When we feel lost, what do we need to do? We need to go to God’s word and ask God to direct our path. To feel delight are you reading, obeying and keeping God’s law and commands. His word says, this is the way walk this way. He also gives us the desires of our heart.
P Father God, I come before you and I praise you for your word. Your word is known as the law and commands. I ask you to send your Holy Spirit so that I may understand your word. Help me to keep your word by obeying you word in everything I do. Lord please direct my steps on the path I am to be on and more than anything let me delight in your word.

Beloved, my hope for each of you is that your are reading God’s word and praying. This method of study is an excellent way to read God’s word. The Psalmist is asking the Lord to obey, to walk, and to delight in God’s word. God gave us His Holy Spirit so that we can draw close to the Lord, we can declare our dependency on God and the Holy Spirit enables us to understand and apply His word to our lives. In the song Trust and Obey it states, “there is no other way but to trust and obey.”
How do you walk with the Lord? What happens when we walk with the Lord? The first two words you can make in the word willing is Will I, will you keep God’s word?
