S Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws. I have suffered much: preserve my life, Lord according to your word.
O God’s word illumed the darkness in our lives. When the Psalmist looked to the promise of Jesus and God, he declares his dependency on God’s righteous laws. Most likely this Psalm was written by David and he tells God of his sufferings and ask him to preserve his life.
A What darkness is around you? What do you watch on TV? What are you reading? Are you in God’s word daily? Do you depend on God’s word as your compass? Do you go to God with your sufferings? Do you go to him when your life needs to be preserved?
P Father God, thank you that I can count on your word to shine a light on my life. Forgive me for not always speaking the truth, for not reading and being in your word, for letting my eyes read and see things that do not edify me. Lord in my suffering forgive me for not always doing what I need to be well.
