David does not have an easy life, he is on the run from Saul. Saul is trying to kill him and David is having to live in cave. He was at Gath and now he is having to move on. Have you ever been in a difficult work or family situation?
1 Samuel 22:1 David has left Gath and escaped to the Cave of Adullam. Soon his brothers and all his other relatives joined him there. This Psalm is written after he fled Gath and he dwells in the Cave of Adullam. Adullam means refuge but David’s real refuge is in God. As he declares in verse two, “I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings until the danger passes by.”
Beloved, who do you place your refuge or should I say your trust? Do you trust God?
David had many enemies, he shares in verse six that his enemies set a trap for him and he was weary. What brings anxiety into your life? Who do you turn to when you are weary?
However, his heart was confident in God. Is your heart confident in God?
No wonder he could sing his praises. Praises for his unfailing love and his faithfulness.
Beloved, our greatest purpose is to know God and make Him known.
Pray back to God the majority of this Psalm.
Father God,
I cry out to God Most High,
to God, who vindicates me.
Thank you for saving my soul.
My heart, O God, is steadfast,
my heart is steadfast;
I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.
In Jesus’ name Amen
Beloved, who will you tell the good news Jesus is alive?
