Beloved, our word is resurrection. The definition of resurrection is in Christian belief) Christ’s rising from the dead and (in Christian belief) the rising of the deceased at the Last Judgment. The word resurrection is in the Bible fifty-one times,
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” 1 John 3:16
Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be accomplished. Luke 18:31
Thoughts
The resurrection is told in all four of the New Testament Gospels. This morning while listening to John MacArthur from Grace to You. He shared something that struck me. So some points to ponder are on the resurrection. The stone was rolled away, an angel gave the message to the frightened women, and the women gave the message that Christ had risen to the disciples. So why did God involve the women?
To be an eyewitness, one had to be at the cross and the tomb. The only disciple at the cross was John. But the women were there. So as the years went by, the women validated Christ’s resurrection as eyewitnesses.
Prayer
Father God,
You are an extraordinary God. You value women. Thank you for treasuring each woman reading this prayer. I pray that you meet their needs physically, spiritually, and financially. Thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus. He paid the penalty for our sins so that we have eternal life. I love you, Lord. In Jesus’s name. Amen
Reflections
When did you accept Jesus as your Savior?
What do you need to surrender to Jesus?
