Introduction
Most weddings have guests that come to the wedding. Today’s reading is a prewedding blessing. Do you remember any of the blessings from your wedding?
Reading and Assignment
Read Ruth 4: 11-12, Genesis 29: 31, Genesis 30: 22, SOAP Ruth 4: 11-12
Scripture
And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The Lord make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem: And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the Lord shall give thee of this young woman.
Application
Blessings came from having children. Do you see your children as a blessing? When you go to a wedding do you pray for the couple to be blessed?
Prayer
Father God, thank you for the children that you gave me? I pray for the woman who may be fighting infertility, may she seek you for comfort and if it is your will give her the desire of her heart. Lord, I pray for those newlywed may they glorify you in their marriage. Lord for those of us married forever, please let us be refreshed and rekindle our love for one another. Lord for the person who is still single, will you bless her. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Conclusion
Although I do not remember the blessings that were given at my wedding, we have been married forty-eight years. Time has passed, we have two sons and are blessed with six grandchildren. I am so thankful to God for the blessings I have in my life. How about you?
